Weeknotes #3: Speed round
I'm going to be away so here's a quick early weeknotes before I go.
Animal Crossing!!!!!
The surprise announcement of a 3.0 update was the big highlight for me this week. I love all the decorating shit in New Horizons so this is right up my alley. After sinking over 2k hours into the game, I was pretty sure I was burnt out on it for good, but damn if Nintendo aren't pulling me back in.
I went out-out on Halloween
I haven't done this in like a decade but I was going to a gig. What I learned is that I am too old to go out-out on Halloween. I have back pain. I cede it to the young people.
However I did get the chance to test out my Loop earplugs (warily purchased after reading a lot of Reddit reviews that I thought may have been astroturfing) and I was actually really happy with them. I went to a gig at the same venue a few weeks ago, stood in roughly the same spot, and my ears were ringing for days afterwards (thus me buying earplugs) but today they feel fine. And I could hear the gig well too. So thumbs up for Loops I guess.
The gig was fun but rowdier than I would have liked. Afterwards I heard a girl sadly saying "There's no room to throw ass in the pit" and honestly I felt that.
Fashion corner
I saw a girl wearing shorts over tights and it triggered my latent Aria Montgomery and now I think this is really cute again. I spent several hours trawling the charity shops in my town for shorts but it was the wrong season and nobody had them out. Finally found a really cute pair in the last shop I checked. Victory!
I am on holiday now
I am going to a new country for the first time since 2019. Hopefully I will have a nice time. This does mean saying goodbye to the book for a week, but I keep telling myself that won't kill me.
