Brainstream
Every little inane thought that comes into my head (or at least the last 30 of them).
- Spent way too much of today rewatching clips from The Thick Of It. Oh well. Knowledge is porridge.
- I should really redo the homepage. This was meant to be a temporary layout and that was 8 months ago lol
- I have discovered nth-child(odd) and nth-child(even) for styling and I am about to go HOG WILD
- Finally played Magic: The Gathering for the first time this weekend. Nerd cred increased by 10 points
- Brain has spent the last 48 hours just running through all the NTBTS "genderless burger experience" jingles on loop
- Getting roasted by my Vampire: The Masquerade group for wanting to watch the football. So hard to be a goth and a jock at the same time 😔
- About to hit another record-breaking heatwave and at this point I think we should just destroy the sun TBQH
- I've started the 100 question webmaster survey. Let's see how long it takes me to actually complete it
- Been working my way through the Mike's Mic LOST season 4 vid and now my brain is just YER TAWKIN BOUT THE NUMBAS on loop
- I was crying to the Willie Nelson version of "Always On My Mind" (no reason, it's just a good song) and decided to look at the YouTube comments and the top one was from a man who played it to his wife just before she died. They'd been married 60 years. This really didn't help with the crying
- Oh god it's so hot I can't think straight. Why are UK heatwaves the actual fucking worst???
- I haven't updated this in ages, which raises the question: do I just not have thoughts now? The answer may be yes
- Stayed up too late watching Bingo Brawlers. I have spent 100x more hours watching this series than I ever did playing Elden Ring but oh well. The bingus do be bongusing
- Told myself I wasn't going to bother doing much research for a silly AU fic and then three hours later I have ordered a book
- Had a really nice chill weekend which somehow makes it extra annoying that I have to work tomorrow instead of just having More Weekend
- The optimum volume for listening to this Nine Inch Noize album really is "teeth rattling in skull". I am becoming something else... I am turning into God 👹
- Just read 17776 for the first time and cried lol
- Over 10,000 views?? What to heck??? Thanks everyone for looking at my silly little website I guess :)
- One of these days I'm gonna remember exactly how flexbox works instead of googling for like half an hour but today is not that day
- [Rob Halford voice] MOWING THE LAWN, MOWING THE LAWN
- Is there anything more exciting than a cat that does not live in your house coming into your house? I don't think so
- The urge to quit my job and just play Pokopia until my brain utterly boils
- No weeknotes this week, I can't be bothered lol
- Listening to Weyes Blood is an acceptable substitute for therapy, right?
- I want to start putting more CD reviews on here (and maybe other kinds of reviews too) but instead I'm just having a whole crisis trying to figure out how this site should be structured. It gets a little trickier every time I add something new. I want it to be easier to find things on the same topic (eg music) but I also don't want the navigation to become some confusing maze that keeps doubling back on itself. So idk
- Yelling OH MY GOD at the screen but it's just because I got an email saying D.E.B.S. was on streaming
- It occurred to me recently that I don't really have a name on here. Like "Ratlands" is the name of this website, not me. I've just been using "Ratlander" on guestbooks and so on but I wonder if I should have an actual name to go by. Not my real one though because I love racking up pseudonyms. Might just pick one at random!
- "Secrets" by Magdalena Bay really has the most Neocities music video out there. ("Top Dog" is the runner-up.)
- Somehow this site has received over 5,000 views? 1. HOW, but also 2. thank you! You are all my valentines <3
- Something so satisfying about taking a chance on a random busted-looking compilation in a charity shop and then it turns out to have some bangers on there. No algorithm, just lucky dip! (But then I have to buy more CDs to hear more of the artists I liked... where does it end???)
All earlier thoughts are lost to the sands of time...
