Fictional characters I relate to a little too much
It me (and I worry about what that says about me).
- Roast Beef Kazenzakis from Achewood
-
"Fuck man always text before you call me! You know I ain't a dude of noises!"
Roast Beef is a depressed cartoon cat and I relate to almost everything he has ever said. I have so many panels of him saved in a folder because all of them are gold. I could probably do an entire page consisting solely of my favourite Roast Beef quotes. Like Beef, I always did what I was supposed to do. Got an education. Taught myself computer science. It's all just shit. And for that reason, it me.
- Mark Corrigan from Peep Show
-
"Butter the toast, eat the toast, shit the toast. God, life's relentless."
This petty bitch. Mark combines and exposes all of my worst impulses. He is anxious, pedantic and cowardly. He combines self-loathing with a superiority complex. He holds grudges and has a weird complex around the concept of anyone having fun, especially himself. Unfortunately, it me.
- Peggy Olson from Mad Men
-
"Pizza house!"
I felt a lot more 'it me' about Peggy back in the days when I was really career-minded and felt like a bit of an underdog at times. Realistically, Peggy turned out a lot cooler and more successful than I did, but I would like to think that I've faintly imitated her impressive growth in confidence over the years. In my dreams, it me.
